R.E. Lockett is a versatile writer who seamlessly shifts between children’s literature, fantasy, and narrative poetry. Driven by a lifelong love of storytelling and an unyielding curiosity about human nature, Lockett first ventured into publishing with three children’s books celebrating friendship, nature, and the power of imagination. Next came Thin Windows, a narrative poetry collection interlacing elements of fantasy and science fiction—proving that poetry can be as epic and thrilling as a novel.

Currently, Lockett is editing the first installment of a new fantasy series aimed at middle-aged readers who enjoy YA-style adventures. This foray into longer-form fantasy lets him indulge in world-building and character arcs inspired by both classic folktales and modern genre conventions. Beyond writing, Lockett shares insights on the craft of storytelling and the challenges of maintaining good mental health as an author. His blog at Wakeless River Press features tips for emerging writers, resources for self-publishing, and candid discussions about managing anxiety and creative burnout.
