Description
Oz is a curious ostrich who wanders the savannah ‘with questions in tow’. One day he asks his old friend Griz, a well-traveled grizzly, what an ostrich should wear to the beach. Griz tells Oz how similar the savannah and beach are – along with all of the things he dislikes! Sand in the fur, pinched toes, gusts that scatter your thingsÂ
As Oz imagines the beach and then pictures the troubles Griz describes, doubt settles in like evening sand; he wonders how his friend could ever love the savannah. Griz, surprised to see his friend’s sadness, offers a quiet truth: places change with the company you keep, and the best parts of any place are the moments spent with friendsÂ
